Most technology was built for people who already know what they want. We started from a different place.

Walk down any busy street in any Indian city.

On one side: a tailor who’s been there for thirty years, knows every customer by name, and does the best work in the neighbourhood. On the other: a juice bar that opened six months ago with a line every morning without a single ad.

Neither of them exists online in any meaningful way. Search for them and you’ll find an address, maybe a phone number, possibly a star rating from four years ago. What you won’t find is why people keep coming back.

This gap between how rich the physical world actually is and how poorly technology has captured it is where we work.

One product line.
Two sides of the street.

Glymp is Graybyte’s first vertical: a Made-in-India social discovery platform for neighbourhoods. It ships as two apps — one for the locals and creators discovering a neighbourhood, one for the stores that make it worth discovering.

For locals & creators

Every neighbourhood has more worth discovering than any one person can find alone. Walk into any store before you walk in — real photos, current stock and live deals from the shops around you.

02

For local businesses

People walk past your store every day. Most don't know what's inside. Glymp Business gets you found in your neighbourhood — without ad spend, without an agency.

Graybyte’s next vertical is being built quietly. We’ll tell you what it is when it ships.

People, places,
then intelligence.

Most technology competes for more of your screen time. We build for what happens after you put the phone down — the store you walked into, the event you went to, the place you finally found.

01 · People

Discovery starts with people. On Glymp, locals and creators share what's worth stepping out for — stories from the store, reviews from the neighbourhood, and Drops twice a day.

02 · Places

Real photos, current stock and live deals from real businesses, brought online one neighbourhood at a time — starting in Mumbai.

03 · Intelligence

Intelligence should take tedious work off people's hands, not become the product. On Glymp, that means conversational search. On Glymp Business: AI Product Addition, AI hyperlocal campaigns and AI content creation.

Graybyte builds one product line at a time. Glymp is the first. The next is in development, and we’ll name it when it ships.

Decisions happen
before intent.

Five things we hold to be true. They decide what we build, and more often, what we refuse to.

01

Most commerce tech assumes you know what you want. We build for the moment before that — when someone steps outside thinking “there must be something good nearby.”

02

A neighbour’s recommendation carries more weight than any algorithm — it comes with context, accountability and relationship. Local trust is the oldest human system. It just doesn’t have good software yet.

03

The internet mapped knowledge. Social networks mapped relationships. The texture of physical places — the patterns and stories that make one street different from another — has never been indexed. That is the dataset we are building.

04

India’s streets aren’t waiting to go digital. They already work. Our job is to make software fit how they work — not to ask them to change.

05

A chai order. A tailor’s fitting. A repair that takes ten minutes. India runs on millions of transactions too small for anyone to have bothered indexing — which is exactly why they add up to the opportunity.

Six rules.
No exceptions.

Values are only real when they cost you something. These are the ones we have already turned down work for — and the ones we hire, review and fire against.

  1. 01

When the dashboard and the footpath disagree, we go back to the footpath. Nobody here gets to describe a user they have never stood next to.

  2. 02

We would rather grow slower than grow on anything a customer would feel tricked by. No fake engagement, no manufactured hype, no shortcut we would be embarrassed to explain.

  3. 03

If it does not work on an entry-level Android, on a patchy connection, for someone who has never used an app like it, it is not finished. It is a demo.

  4. 04

AI should take the tedious work off people's hands, not take the people out of the picture. We build it to help someone, never to pretend to be someone.

  5. 05

Getting a shop owner set up in two minutes matters more than any clever demo. The unglamorous work is where products are actually won or lost.

  6. 06

You wrote it, you watch it, you answer for it — in the code, in the reviews, on the phone. Ownership does not end at deploy.

The Graybyte method

Five moves.
No shortcuts.

Most products are designed at a desk and deployed onto a street. We work the other way round — in the gray between the two.

Scroll to walk through ↓

Phase 01 / 05

Walk.

Every product starts on a street, not in a spreadsheet.

  • We spend time in the markets we build for
  • We watch what people do — not only what they say
  • Assumptions made at a desk are treated as guesses

Phase 02 / 05

Map.

If a place can’t be understood, it can’t be found.

  • We map the texture of neighbourhoods — rhythms, regulars, rituals
  • Local knowledge becomes structured signal
  • Nothing gets built until the map is honest

Phase 03 / 05

Build.

We respect the boring problems.

  • Onboarding a shop owner in minutes, not meetings
  • Flows anyone can use without training
  • Unglamorous details decide whether a product works

Phase 04 / 05

Earn.

Fast on experiments. Slow on trust.

  • Reviews, recommendations and visibility are handled with care
  • Growth never at the cost of a customer's trust
  • Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose

Phase 05 / 05

Compound.

Scale built on local understanding compounds.

  • Deep in specific places before going wide
  • Every street we learn makes the next one faster
  • Abstraction fails. Local context scales.

Graybyte is a technology company building products for real life — products measured by what happens beyond the screen. Its first product line is Glymp, a Made-in-India social discovery platform live in Mumbai. Graybyte Private Limited was incorporated in 2026 and is recognised by Startup India (DPIIT), AWS for Startups and Google for Startups.

Most technology is designed to keep you on your phone. Graybyte builds products whose value shows up in real life: a store someone walked into, an event they went to, a place they finally found. Software and AI do the work in the background; the outcome happens outside.

Glymp is Graybyte's hyperlocal vertical: a Made-in-India social discovery app for neighbourhoods. People browse real photos, current stock and live deals from nearby stores, ask for what you want nearby, in plain words with conversational search, read reviews from the neighbourhood, explore local stops on the GlympGo map, share Drops twice a day, pin local finds to the neighbourhood with Spotted, and earn Glymp Coins redeemable for deals at local shops.

Glymp Business is the app for local stores. Owners go live in under two minutes with no paperwork or fees, post products and live deals, and track store visits and engagement. Its AI tools help owners list products from a photo, reach shoppers nearby and create promotions. Listing a business is free.

Yes, where it saves people real effort. On Glymp, conversational search lets people ask for what you want nearby in plain words and get matched with relevant places and businesses around you. On Glymp Business, AI Product Addition lets owners upload one product photo and it extracts the product details and generates catalog-ready images, with no manual data entry and no photoshoot; AI hyperlocal campaigns let them create campaigns that put a store's offers in front of people nearby; and AI content creation helps them create posts and promotions without design or marketing skills.

As of September 2026: more than 2,000 people use Glymp and have posted over 3,000 pieces of neighbourhood content. On the business side, 150+ stores have joined Glymp Business, listing 300+ products, and Glymp has sent 500+ visits to those local stores.
